Now the days are getting longer why not start planning your summer blooms .
That is what I am doing, as I will be growing a new generation of Dahlias from seed after the excessive rain affected a lot of mine. They are super easy to grow, in garden beds or pots.

Dahlias can bloom from October through to May. They are simply the most wonderful flowers.

This was me 25 + years ago working at Taronga Zoo on the Friendshio Farm section.

I was very blessed to get to work with wonderful animals and other incredible zookeepers.

Now I just care for a menagerie of elderly chooks, ducks, cows, Miranda the dog and Smudge the cat along with thousands of potted plants and lots of gardens.

Smudge has an upper respiratory infection. I wanted to let locals who also have cats know.

Firstly so they can protect their cats and secondly that it would have come from a roaming cat likely to be one that comes onto my verandah or very close to house.

Smudge was only going outside very closely supervised a couple of times a week and only near my house.

Does your cat roam,please consider other people's cats health and the health of your cat, don't let your cat leave your property and supervise them outside to protect wildlife.
